The Department of Psychology at Wolkite University is committed to the study of human behavior, mental processes, and psychosocial development. Objectives/Goals

Duties and Responsibilities

Academic Roles

Ø  Develop and offer undergraduate programs in psychology aligned with national higher education standards.

Ø  Design and revise curricula based on societal needs, research trends, and academic best practices.

Ø  Deliver high-quality instruction across core and specialized areas of psychology.

Research and Knowledge Production

Ø  Conduct research on educational, clinical, social, developmental, and organizational psychology.

Ø  Disseminate research findings through academic publications, conferences, and community reports.

Ø  Encourage student involvement in research through guided thesis and project work.

Student Support and Counseling

Ø  Provide individual and group counseling services for students facing psychological, academic, or social challenges.

Ø  Support the academic and personal development of students through mentoring and advising.

Community Engagement

Ø  Offer training and workshops for schools, youth organizations, and health institutions on topics such as mental health, conflict resolution, stress management, and behavior modification.
