The Department of Sociology at Wolkite University is an academic unit committed to the study and analysis of social behavior, institutions, and structures. Duties and Responsibilities

1.      Academic Functions

  •          Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs

2.      Research and Innovation

  •          Conduct basic and applied research on local and national issues
  •          Encourage staff and student-led research initiatives
  •          Share research outcomes with communities, policymakers, and industries

3.      Community Service

  •         Provide expert services, capacity building, and training to local communities
  •          Engage in social development programs and outreach activities
  •          Facilitate knowledge transfer and problem-solving at the grassroots level
