Objectives/Goals

  • To ensure the holistic development, well-being, and academic success of students through effective support services and programs.
  1. Accessible and Equitable Services
  • To provide inclusive, student-centered services that address the academic, emotional, financial, and social needs of all students.
  1. Leadership and Personal Development
  • To promote leadership, civic engagement, and personal growth among students through extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
  1. Safe and Supportive Environment
  • To maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive campus environment conducive to learning and personal development.
  1. Effective Student Governance
  • To support and oversee student unions and associations in fostering participatory student governance and leadership.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Student Support Services Oversight
  • Oversee all student-related services including counseling, housing, food services, financial aid, student health, and disability support.
  • Ensure timely and effective responses to student concerns, grievances, and disciplinary cases.
  1. Policy Implementation and Compliance
  • Develop and implement student affairs policies in line with national higher education regulations and university directives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and academic standards in student affairs.
  1. Student Engagement and Development
  • Organize and support student development programs, leadership training, cultural activities, sports, and community service.
  • Collaborate with student unions to ensure student voice and participation in university governance.
  1. Academic and Career Support
  • Coordinate support services that enhance academic achievement, including mentoring, advising, and career development.
  • Facilitate linkages with career services, job fairs, and internships in partnership with employers and alumni.
  1. Campus Life Management
  • Supervise the management of student dormitories, recreational centers, and other student facilities.
  • Work with relevant offices to ensure campus safety, sanitation, and comfort.
  1. Student Discipline and Conflict Resolution
  • Lead the university’s student discipline committee and ensure fair and transparent disciplinary procedures.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts among students or between students and staff.
  1. Budget and Resource Management
  • Develop and manage the student services budget; allocate resources efficiently and responsibly.
  • Mobilize external resources and partnerships to enhance student support services.
  1. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
  • Conduct regular evaluations of student services and submit performance reports to university leadership.
  • Use data-driven decision-making to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of student programs.
  1. Liaison and Representation
  • Serve as the chief liaison between students and university administration.
  • Represent the university in national and regional student affairs networks and forums.
