The mission of the Directorate is to design, implement, and manage an inclusive and comprehensive e-learning system. This system aims to empower students, faculty, and staff, enabling them to succeed academically and professionally through accessible, high-quality digital education.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibility 1: Technology Integration
ü Facilitate the adoption and effective use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital tools across the university.
ü Support seamless integration of technology into educational practices to ensure faculty and students utilize digital resources effectively.
Responsibility 2: Digital Content Development
ü Assist faculty in designing and developing high-quality, interactive, and accessible e-learning materials aligned with academic standards.
ü Ensure the availability of necessary resources and tools to create content that is pedagogically sound and engaging for diverse learners.
Responsibility 3: Training and Capacity Building
ü Organize workshops and training programs for faculty, staff, and students to enhance their skills in using e-learning platforms and digital pedagogies.
ü Provide ongoing technical and instructional support to maximize the effectiveness of e-learning systems.
Responsibility 4: Quality Assurance
ü Establish and monitor standards for e-learning courses to ensure alignment with high educational standards.
ü Conduct regular evaluations of e-learning programs, using feedback to guide continuous improvement in course delivery and content.
Responsibility 5: Research and Innovation
ü Promote research on e-learning technologies, methodologies, and best practices to maintain the university’s leadership in digital education.
ü Stay informed about global trends in e-learning to implement innovative solutions that improve teaching and learning experiences.
Responsibility 6: Collaboration and Partnerships
ü Collaborate with academic departments, administrative units, and external stakeholders to advance e-learning initiatives.
ü Foster partnerships with national and international organizations to share resources, exchange knowledge, and build capacity for e-learning development.
Responsibility 8: Monitoring and Reporting
ü Monitor e-learning activities across the institution, reporting regularly to top management on their implementation and outcomes.
ü Collect feedback and conduct surveys to assess the effectiveness of e-learning initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
Responsibility 9: Budgeting and Funding
ü Manage the annual budget for e-learning and related activities.
ü Seek project-based funding from local and international organizations to support the Directorate’s initiatives.
Responsibility 10: User Support and Promotion
ü Provide support to academic units in utilizing LMS, ensuring the proper functioning of e-learning systems.
ü Promote e-learning technologies to the university community, encouraging widespread adoption and active engagement.
Organizational Structure
The E-Learning Management Directorate is led by the Director, and includes the following key staff members:
1. E-Learning Management Directorate Director: Leads the strategic direction of e-learning initiatives, ensuring alignment with the university’s academic and technological goals.
2. E-Learning Coordinator: Oversees the daily operations of e-learning activities, ensuring effective coordination between faculty, staff, and the Directorate.
3. E-Learning System Administrator: Manages and ensures the functionality of the university’s Learning Management Systems (LMS).
4. Animation Designer: Creates engaging and educational animations to enhance digital content and the overall e-learning experience.
5. Script Writer: Develops scripts for e-learning courses, ensuring content is clear, accurate, and effective in meeting learning objectives.
6. Instructional Designer: Designs and develops e-learning materials, courses, and curricula that are pedagogically sound and learner-centered.
7. Visual Designer: Develops visual elements for e-learning content, ensuring that they are both aesthetically pleasing and aligned with the university’s branding.
8. Editor (Multimedia Content Editor): Edits and refines multimedia content, ensuring the quality and consistency of all digital learning materials.
9. Production Engineer: Manages the technical aspects of producing digital learning content, including video production and audio engineering.
