Wolkite University Student Union (WKUSU)
Before being formally established as the Wolkite University Student Union (WKUSU) in 2004, the student body was initially organized as a student council. However, the council's scope, particularly in providing counseling services, proved insufficient to address the wide range of student needs. As a result, the student council evolved into WKUSU, which was founded and operates according to its own constitution. This constitution, which outlines the powers and structure of the union, was adopted in July 2004.
Since its establishment, WKUSU has played a vital role in driving social, cultural, and economic changes within the university community. Its scope has expanded beyond its original purpose, and the union has seen significant success in its endeavors. Today, WKUSU continues to progress steadily, striving for greater achievements in its activities.
The union is autonomous, non-political, and fully secular, governed by the students themselves. Its primary mission is to advocate for the academic and social rights of Wolkite University students, including those enrolled in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
