Objectives/Goals
Primary Objective of Ethics Monitoring Executive officer is to promote a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability by leading the development and implementation of ethics monitoring strategies. This role ensures compliance with laws and regulations, prevents unethical conduct, and strengthens institutional trust through proactive education, monitoring, and enforcement of ethical standards.
Development Goal is to foster good governance, promote transparency, and ensure accountability key pillars for achieving sustainable development goals such as poverty reduction, inclusive economic growth, and social progress.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Corruption Prevention: Design and implement effective strategies and policies to prevent corruption across both public and private sectors.
- Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of corruption, unethical behavior, and abuse of office.
- Enforcement and Accountability: Recommend legal or administrative action against individuals or entities found to be involved in corrupt practices.
- Public Education and Awareness: Lead awareness campaigns and educational programs to inform the public about ethical behavior, integrity, and the harmful effects of corruption.
- Promotion of Ethical Standards: Develop, disseminate, and promote codes of conduct and ethical guidelines for public officials and institutions.
- Advisory Services: Provide guidance to public institutions on building transparent systems and controls that reduce opportunities for corruption.
- Monitoring and Compliance: Monitor and evaluate the enforcement and effectiveness of ethical standards and anti-corruption frameworks within public service institutions.
- Asset Declaration Oversight: Oversee the accurate declaration and verification of income, assets, and liabilities by public officials to promote transparency and accountability.
